Chocolate Peanut Butter Reese’s Cookies…yum!

These are the absolute BEST cookies I have ever made.  Here is what you need:

3/4 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup sugar

2 sticks of unsalted butter (the real thing, not margarine, room temperature is best)

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 1/4 cup flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 large bag (23 oz.) of milk chocolate chips (I use Nestle Tollhouse)

6 – 12 Reese’s Eggs, Trees or Hearts (I use 12.  If these aren’t available, regular Reese’s cups would probably do the trick)

1 cup crunchy peanut butter

Some sugar, for dusting

 

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Cream butter and sugars.  Stir in eggs and vanilla.  Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and stir.  Dump in chocolate chips and Reese’s (I use a Kitchenaide mixer for this, so I let it break up the Reese’s for me, but if you are stirring manually you may want to smush them up with a spoon first).  Stir in peanut butter.  Form the mixture into balls about the size of a ping pong and place them on a cookie sheet (I line mine with parchment paper so the cookies slide off easily).  Sprinkle with sugar.  Bake at 375 degrees for 9 – 11 minutes.

Pour a big glass of milk and enjoy!  If you eat them hot they will crumble apart easily, but it’s worth the mess.
